GPS Files
Soumis par Rich le lun, 2011-08-15 02:48
Hi folks.
I'd like to request GPS files posted to the site. A vast number of people using the site, some with GPS routes. The Waterfront Trail near me is confusing, so having something like this as a library is excellent.
Cheers

There are many sites that provide that
There are quite a lot of sites that provide that sort of thing. Also, one can upload a GPS/KML file to Google Maps and link to it.
We've deliberately stayed as a hospitality organization, not branching out into other things. But I do understand your need.
I think others will post their favorite mapping sites.I've heard of http://mapmyride.com and http://trails.com.
I am open to allowing posting of .gpx and .kml files; that's pretty easy to do. Unfortunately, it doesn't help most people.
OK, wasn't sure what you'd be
OK, wasn't sure what you'd be into. Seeing that location management is part of this site, I thought I'd throw it out there. I write maps applications as well, and I love my GPS data.
Cheers
You're welcome here...
If you'd like to help straighten up the stuff on this site and add new features, you're welcome. Mapping is such wonderful stuff. Our google mapping stuff is v2, which is getting pretty old in the tooth.
I hear ya. Your V2 is better
I hear ya. Your V2 is better (grouping) than my V3. I suck at JS as well, but big on the server side with a language I'm sure you haven't heard of. Hence I'm in the push into Ruby. So I won't have much to add, at this point.
