I intend to ride from my home in Ireland to Slovenia starting in May 2012. I have toured a lot on the Continent and elsewhere and am fairly fit, so I am hoping to average 100-125 kms per day, weather permitting, travelling light and hostelling where possible. I do not camp. There will be stops, scheduled and unscheduled to admire and explore, so progress may be erratic. My proposed route will be through Ireland and through southern France, over the Alps into Italy and then to Slovenia, (details on request). I usually travel alone but if there is anyone who is interested in accompanying me all or part of the way, please let me know and perhaps we can develop the project ensemble. I have few time restrictions, being retired, and am reasonably flexible on most matters.
