The big news in September is CHANGE! 

As we roll into September, summer is winding down “up here” and spring is heating up “down there”. 

In addition, let’s talk about APPS!  We’re getting really close to having our new mobile apps finished and they’re gonna be awesome!  You’ll have lightning quick access to maps, accessing hosts, responding to requests and more, all via your smart phone, and right at your finger tips.  Stay tuned for our expected release date!

For the travel and adventure enthusiasts: Bike Life shares the story of Tristan’s and Belén's adventures on various bicycle tours throughout Europe, North America and Central Asia. A book full of beautiful photographs and personal anecdotes, advice and the many things they learned while being on the road. The book breathes adventure, but also bursts with interesting tips on how to plan your own bicycle tour, and provides some recommended routes. Bike Life also provides an answer to the most commonly asked questions and concerns surrounding this exciting way of exploring the world, inspiring us to go out and pedal to a new place.

Tristan Bogaard and Belén Castelló are photographers and avid travelers. For the past three years, they've done several bicycle tours around the world, capturing the landscapes they've come across and reflecting back on memories by curating their photos and videos on social media. Their love of photography and adventure has led them to this point.

A Section for News on using Warmshowers.org Technology

1.Apps are COMING....we've been hard at work to develop new in-house apps that will allow you ease of access to the site, maps, accessing hosts, respond to requests and more.  We are entering into the testing phases by the end of this month.

2. Inactive Users: to have access to current users, you'll notice we have removed all inactive users off the map.  Only users that have been active in the last year will appear on your search map.  If you wish to widen your scope, you can select to have all users appear.

3. FAQ's: We are in the process of revising the older documents and will be focusing on the top ten most requested information.  This will be available in our new apps.

4. Translated webpages: these will soon be made inactive as the apps will provide full translation for users across the globe.

Last summer, four of us cycled from North of Milan to Rome.  Although there were four on our trip, we did a rider-swap in Florence, so there were only three of us at any one time. We identified our start and finish points and then plotted the most attractive route.  Research showed that we could follow Eurovelo routes 5, 8 and 7, but Warmshowers would mean that we might have to deviate from that occasionally.
