Searching for hosts in big cities

Because there are so many "hosts" in big cities, it may be a good idea to list them by the most recent log-in.

Many users haven't logged in for 6-12 months and the cities are just a jumble of hosts, making it near impossible to get a response. I don't like the technique of sending 10 responses in hopes of getting a single reply.

Instead of sending people a reminder once a year to log in, it may be better to do the same but delete the account if it doesn't get activated within 4 weeks of the email.

I dare say 20% of the people would disappear.

By selecting the most recent

By selecting the most recent login, you will get:

  1. cyclists looking for hosts
  2. hosts that just answered another request. They either accepted or declined. In both cases, they are not especially likely to host you.

response percentage?

I am a big city host and get a lot of undirected hence probably copy pasted requests. As a host in a big city you would be way happier if people were able to find you easier.

I try to keep my percentage of response on 100%. If only guests could filter the list on the host’s response percentage instead of the imho lesser useful categories such as number of toilets or such.

very difficult

to find host in big citis

you have hundred of hosts but very few active

Many users haven't logged in for 6-12 months  it is so optimistic I found lots of with more than one year

ex in busan where I try to find host

  • Membre depuis 2 ans 4 mois
  • Dernière connexion 2 ans 4 jours
  • Membre depuis 2 ans 8 mois
  • Dernière connexion 2 ans 3 jours

as the apps is disconected you cannot put hosts in favorite before leaving home

so you have to check all the profil on the website  witch is not very ergonomic

more than 400 in my city :( not so big at all

same same

Our experience was the same. WS needs to adress this if it wants to stay useful. It seems to me at this point that a high member count is more important to the organization than its usefulness.
